Shaft Alignment Handbook

John Piotrowski did an excellent job in writing this book. You should be prepared to get a lot of math, but you will need this math to do proper equipment alignment. There is no holy grail in equipment alignment, just hard work. The information John has shared in this book will greatly improve your capabilities. The information in this book is some of the most useful info I have come across in my 40 years of industrial maintenance. Information is a mechanics number one tool.

Highly detailed treatment of shaft alignment methods

Very thorough treatment of shafts of motors and various methods to detect misalignment. Lists mechanical, otical, gage and laser methods to provide proper alignment. Limited treatment of vary large shafting and straightness; does address deflection due to mass effects.
